I wasn't satisfied coloring inside someone else's lines. I wanted to define my creative process and see the impact of my work directly.” Stephanie Audette

Who are you, what do you do and why?

I’m Stephanie Audette, a graphic designer on a mission to help small businesses in Worcester County build strong, consistent brand identities.

When you work with me, you’ll get more than original, inventive design—you’ll get guidance every step of the way. You’ll get a designer who can explain how color choice influences perception. Someone who will remind you that you need to use your brand fonts everywhere—even on your social media graphics. Someone who isn’t afraid to tell you that making your logo bigger isn’t (usually) the answer. You’ll get a branding expert who will make sure you understand how to get the most out of your visual elements.

I'm no drive-by designer. I genuinely value the relationships I build with my clients. You can rely on me for honest opinions, accurate timelines, transparent budget estimates, and answers to questions—even after your project is complete. It's not just good service; it's good karma

What did you want to be when you were a child?

When I was a child I wanted to try everything! Veterinarian one day, fashion designer the next!

What inspired you to start your business?

After earning my BFA in graphic design from MassArt, getting a full-time design job seemed like the right thing to do. I bounced around to a few agencies, but it soon became clear that the fit was all wrong. I wasn't satisfied coloring inside someone else's lines. I wanted to define my creative process and see the impact of my work directly. I started designing for a few freelance clients, left my day job, and opened my studio. If you look through my portfolio, you'll find my style is clean, colorful, and original. I love the challenge of incorporating all of the traits of a brand into one simple, thoughtful image.

Since forging my own path, I've had the chance to build relationships with the masterminds behind incredible local businesses—from salons to fitness studios to restaurants and more. When I see my clients opening up new locations, winning awards, and getting bigger and better by the moment, I can't help but feel proud. Proud to be doing what I do and proud to be a part of the energized community in Worcester County.

What's one thing you wish you would have known when starting your business?

The fact that you're not going to be a good fit for every person and to trust your gut when it comes to taking on clients.

At Pepperlane, we promote the idea that motherhood is good for business. What's one transferable skill from being a mom that has helped you in business?

Well, being a mom for only 4.5 months now I'd say I'm learning all types of new skills! One in particular is how to type on one hand and eat with the other...all without spilling!

What's your favorite part about the Pepperlane community?

Hands down, my favorite part of the Pepperlane community is the positivity and encouragement of other members. Networking can be intimidating and these women are so opening and willing to help.

What characteristic do you admire in other mom entrepreneurs?

The fact that they get things done. Becoming a mom for the first time within the last year was beyond overwhelming - I truly don't know how mothers get everything done.

What can we help you celebrate?

This January marks my 5th year in business! It was my goal to create my own business and to be able to work from home before having children and I did it!
