This week's mama in the spotlight is graphic designer Stephanie Audette. Stephanie is a new mom (her baby is almost 5 months old!), on a mission to help small businesses in Worcester County, Massachusetts build strong brand identities. Nice to meet you Stephanie!
“I wasn't satisfied coloring inside someone else's lines. I wanted to define my creative process and see the impact of my work directly.” Stephanie Audette

Who are you, what do you do and why?
I’m Stephanie Audette, a graphic designer on a mission to help small businesses in Worcester County build strong, consistent brand identities.
When you work with me, you’ll get more than original, inventive design—you’ll get guidance every step of the way. You’ll get a designer who can explain how color choice influences perception. Someone who will remind you that you need to use your brand fonts everywhere—even on your social media graphics. Someone who isn’t afraid to tell you that making your logo bigger isn’t (usually) the answer. You’ll get a branding expert who will make sure you understand how to get the most out of your visual elements.
I'm no drive-by designer. I genuinely value the relationships I build with my clients. You can rely on me for honest opinions, accurate timelines, transparent budget estimates, and answers to questions—even after your project is complete. It's not just good service; it's good karmaWhat did you want to be when you were a child?
What inspired you to start your business?
After earning my BFA in graphic design from MassArt, getting a full-time design job seemed like the right thing to do. I bounced around to a few agencies, but it soon became clear that the fit was all wrong. I wasn't satisfied coloring inside someone else's lines. I wanted to define my creative process and see the impact of my work directly. I started designing for a few freelance clients, left my day job, and opened my studio. If you look through my portfolio, you'll find my style is clean, colorful, and original. I love the challenge of incorporating all of the traits of a brand into one simple, thoughtful image.
