There are many options out there to help your child (and you) be more successful this fall. Other moms are particularly well equipped to create solutions that will actually work for your family. These mom business owners (and Pepperlane Members) have been hard at work creating academic and fun support services for children.
Here are some of our favorites—from tutoring, foreign language programs, arts and music, and physical activities.
Tutoring
Company: Crimson Coaching
Pepperlaner: Dominique Padurano, Ph.D.
Dr. P. herself tutors almost every subject (including French and Spanish), as well as skills like time management and note taking, to students grades 6-college. She prepares high school students for the SAT, ACT, and other standardized tests, and coaches them through the essay writing process for college applications.
Company: Whale Rock Literary Workshop - Creative Writing for Teens
Pepperlaner: Shari Becker
Shari Becker is a creative writing teacher who works with middle schoolers and high schoolers. The unique skills learned writing fiction transfer to all other areas of academics as well as every day communication. Everyone loves a great story! For high schoolers, in particular, she offers small-group classes focussed on the art of the personal narrative, a key component of college essays. She also works one-on-one with rising seniors on their Common Application personal statements.
Pepperlaner: Jennifer Mack
Jennifer Mack offers small group and 1:1 tutoring services to families with students in grades K-6. She tutors virtually and in person to help supplement work done in the classroom, or help students who may have a particular area of struggle. She also offer parents support with strategies they can use at home with their children.

Pepperlaner: Kate Milkosky
Kate is an actual mathematician who moonlights as a math tutor for students grades K-12. This fall, she'll be offering virtual tutoring for high school students and making YouTube content for them. She is also working with 1st graders virtually in pods and creating free videos on the 1st-grade common core state standards.

Strategic Academic Success (SAS) is excited to announce the Grand Opening of the SAS Lexington Learning Lounge located at 1844b Massachusetts Ave, Lexington! In-person and online availability for all services, including academic support, college consulting, graduate school admissions advising; tutoring, test prep and more. They understand how difficult distance and hybrid learning can be, and their goal is to support all SAS students in whatever capacity is needed, so that no one falls behind in any of their classes or other education-related tasks.
Company: Your Mind in Bloom
Pepperlaner: Angela Capinera
Your Mind in Bloom offers academic support for all ages and subjects, including parental support. They have over almost three decades of experience working with special learners and English language learners (again, all ages). All services available over Zoom and they are available mornings through evenings.
Foreign Language Programs

Bring some positive routine to your child's summer schedule with this fun and interactive online program. The experienced music instructors of Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio LCC offer students a personalized exploration of music theory and the art of the musical performance. Together, their mission is to promote arts education in the community and to prepare students of all ages, skill levels, and learning differences for a lifelong enjoyment of music.
Company: The Plein-Air Art Academy
Pepperlaner: Diana Stelin
Diana Stelin runs the Plein-Air Art Academy, a boutique art studio that offers virtual and live classes. Groups are limited to 12 participants max and are always fun, engaging and informative, which is what garnered us a Best of Boston award! The studio also offers super popular virtual corporate workshops so you could treat your co-workers or your employees!

Pepperlaner: Robyn Parets
Pretzel Kids® is a nationwide kids yoga company offering children's yoga classes, as well as an online certification course and subscription membership for those who wish to teach kids yoga in their communities (or online!).

Jam Time is an indoor play and enrichment center for kids 0-6. Room to Bloom Beverly offers lots of great service for children 0-6. Pictured above, their Activity Kits for At-Home Learning promote sensory play, fine motor development, and preschool skills. Pepperlaner: Krista Gordon
Tranquil Little One offers virtual kids yoga classes (individual or group), distance Reiki packages for children and moms, as well as DIY Emotion Support Essential Oil Spray classes where Moms can learn how to use essential oils to support limbic system function to regulate and calm emotions, with an understanding of essential oil safety and use with children.
